NB Asset-Based Credit Fund: Income-focused investments across loans, receivables, real estate, and asset-backed securities.
Neuberger Berman, a global, private, employee-owned investment manager, has launched the NB Asset-Based Credit Fund its first interval fund bringing private credit solutions to individual investors.
Managed by Neuberger’s Specialty Finance group, the Fund aims to generate high current income through a diversified, actively managed portfolio of short-duration, asset-based credit investments. These include receivables lending, consumer and small business loans, real assets, revenue-based loans, and public asset-based securities. Structured as a closed-end interval fund under the Investment Company Act of 1940, NABFX offers daily share availability, low investment minimums, daily valuations, and limited quarterly liquidity via repurchase offers, while qualifying for 1099 tax reporting.

“We’re excited to give individual investors access to opportunities that were once reserved for institutions,” said Peter Sterling, Head of Neuberger Specialty Finance. “Our goal is to provide high current income uncorrelated to many other credit investments, helping investors diversify their portfolios across different market environments.”
The Fund comes at an opportune time, as the asset-based credit market exceeds $5 trillion amid retrenchment from traditional bank lending. For investors looking to broaden allocations to alternative strategies, NABFX offers a pathway to diversified income and returns. The Fund benefits from the Specialty Finance team’s strong industry relationships and over 20 years of investment experience, offering access to loan origination and structured credit opportunities.

With our experienced team and deep industry network, we can source and structure attractive investment opportunities.”
The launch follows the success of NB Specialty Finance Fund III LP, which raised over $1.6 billion exceeding its $1 billion target with investors from the U.S., Canada, the Middle East, and East Asia. Since 2018, Neuberger Specialty Finance has overseen over $4 billion in assets, spanning more than 50 portfolio companies and investment vehicles
