The partnership goes beyond simple payments. Users will be able to move effortlessly between fiat and stablecoins through ACH, SEPA, FPS, and other local banking networks with no spreads or hidden fees offering a seamless bridge between traditional finance and on-chain digital assets. Instant, zero-fee cross-border transfers will also be possible, allowing people to send funds globally without the delays or costs associated with traditional remittance channels.
Developers building on Algorand will benefit as well. Wirex’s stablecoin infrastructure will be available through a unified API, giving fintech builders access to card issuance, banking connectivity, FX services, and more. This empowers challenger banks, remittance providers, and next-generation payment apps to create real-world financial solutions on Algorand more quickly and with fewer barriers.
Pavel Matveev, Co-Founder of Wirex, said the partnership is a major milestone for stablecoins. “By integrating USDC on Algorand into Wirex’s infrastructure and building Algorand-native payment rails, we’re enabling millions of users to transact globally with instant settlement, zero-FX fees, and truly seamless conversion. It’s a key step in making stablecoins usable as everyday money.”
