Money20/20 USA Kicked Off

Money20/20 USA kicked off with its Sunday Night Live show featuring keynotes from some of the most influential people in financial services, NYSE President Lynn Martin, OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar, and CFPB Director Rohit Chopra who took to the stage to discuss the impact of the new 1033 rulings. Money20/20 USA, the world’s leading fintech show and the place where money does business, concluded having welcomed over 10,000 attendees from over 90 countries and featuring more than 500 speakers. Under the theme of “Human X Machine”, six stages focused on discussing the industry’s most pressing challenges and opportunities, featuring the biggest names in financial services alongside the industry’s most innovative and fastest-growing fintech startups.

Highlights of the show included SEC chair Gary Gensler holding a fireside chat to discuss the SEC’s policies and how they influence everything from digital investments to traditional finance, and IBM Vice Chairman Gary Cohn discussing the intersection of macroeconomic forces and the rapid technological advancements in GenAI. Acrew Capital and Money20/20 released the “ALL IN ON AI: Financial Services Adoption Index 2024”, demonstrating the rapid adoption of AI within the financial services industry. Google Cloud announced a partnership with Citi to modernize its technology infrastructure through Google’s AI and high-performance computing services. Discover unveiled a report emphasizing the importance of instant payments and AI in financial services, spotlighting consumer and merchant demand for instant payments and enhanced security.

Thousands of meetings took place at Money20/20 USA over the four days, including the inaugural initiative MustMeet on Sunday where attendees had up to six hand-selected 12-minute 1-1 meetings, which generated thousands of new connections.

“Once again, Money20/20 USA has convened the whole ecosystem of money for four days, surfacing deep insights from the highest profile speakers, along with industry-changing announcements and connections that will power business getting done for the year to come. It is clear that the future of money is bright,” said Tracey Davies, President of Money20/20.

Money20/20 has long advocated for greater representation in fintech. In support of this, 47% of the speakers at Money20/20 USA this year were female subject matter experts and 30% people of color.

On the heels of a successful Money20/20 USA 2024, Money20/20 Asia will take place in Bangkok on April 22-24 next year, followed by Money20/20 Europe in Amsterdam on June 3-5.
