The company has just announced Pay with Crypto, a powerful new payment solution that lets U.S. merchants accept cryptocurrency payments from around the globe. This game-changing feature allows businesses to instantly convert crypto into stablecoins or traditional currencies, slashing transaction fees by as much as 90% compared to typical international credit card payments.

Here’s how it works: Customers can pay with over 100 different cryptocurrencies—including Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, and more—using popular wallets like Coinbase, MetaMask, Kraken, and Binance. Merchants then receive payment in either stablecoin or fiat currency almost instantly, while benefiting from a low 0.99% transaction fee.

According to PayPal, this new feature opens the door to a $3+ trillion crypto market and connects businesses to a growing audience of over 650 million crypto users worldwide.

Alex Chriss, President and CEO of PayPal, emphasized the impact this could have for small and medium-sized businesses looking to expand globally:

“Imagine a shopper in Guatemala buying a gift from a merchant in Oklahoma City. With PayPal’s platform, that business can now accept crypto, pay lower fees, and access their funds instantly all while earning up to 4% interest on PYUSD they hold on PayPal.”

Beyond offering new payment options, Pay with Crypto is part of PayPal’s bigger vision to make financial systems more open and connected. The company is integrating digital currencies into its broader platform to help businesses improve cash flow, access global customers, and even send fast, low-cost payments to freelancers and vendors around the world.
