Paribu, Türkiye’s leading digital asset platform, has announced a landmark acquisition of CoinMENA—the largest local crypto exchange in the Middle East and North Africa in a deal valuing the company at up to USD 240 million. The transaction marks Türkiye’s biggest fintech deal to date and represents the country’s first cross-border acquisition of a digital asset platform, highlighting an accelerating trend of consolidation within the global crypto industry as major players seek scale, regulatory strength, and international reach.

Through this acquisition, Paribu expands beyond its home market into one of the world’s most crypto-active regions. CoinMENA, licensed by both Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) and the Central Bank of Bahrain, grants Paribu immediate access to two regulated jurisdictions. This significantly broadens its compliance footprint and positions the company as one of the region’s few regulated operators with multi-country authorization an important step as Paribu pursues its strategy of growth anchored in regulatory alignment and market expansion.

Paribu has established itself as a major force in Türkiye’s digital asset and fintech sectors, driven by a roadmap focused on security, innovation, and compliance. In 2024, the company launched Paribu Custody, Türkiye’s first institutional-grade digital asset custody provider powered by its proprietary ColdShield security architecture. In 2025, Paribu received approval from the Capital Markets Board (CMB) to establish a brokerage firm, marking its entry into the country’s capital markets. The acquisition of CoinMENA now strengthens Paribu’s regional ambitions and further solidifies its status as a fintech leader.

Founded in 2020 by Talal Tabbaa and Dina Sam’an, CoinMENA has become a trusted crypto asset service provider regulated in Bahrain and Dubai. The platform has raised nearly USD 20 million from prominent investors—including BECO, Arab Bank Switzerland, Circle, and Bunat Ventures and serves more than 1.5 million users across 45 countries. It offers access to over 50 cryptocurrencies and supports multiple local currencies across the MENA region, making it one of the region’s most widely adopted exchanges.

Paribu Founder and CEO Yasin Oral described the acquisition as a transformational moment not only for the companies involved but also for the broader digital asset landscape in Türkiye and the MENA region. He emphasized that becoming a licensed operator across multiple jurisdictions represents a major milestone in Paribu’s international expansion and a signal of Türkiye’s growing influence in global fintech. Oral added that CoinMENA’s strong regional presence makes it an ideal partner for Paribu’s next phase of growth.

CoinMENA Co-Founders Talal Tabbaa and Dina Sam’an noted that the MENA crypto market is maturing rapidly, and joining forces with Paribu will accelerate innovation while expanding access to digital asset services for users across both regions. They described the acquisition as the most transformative milestone in CoinMENA’s history one that validates the company’s achievements and strengthens its ability to build next-generation digital asset products.
