DLA, LLC, a leading firm specializing in accounting, risk advisory, and financial consulting, has announced the appointment of Andrew (Andy) Shinn as Partner within its Private Equity vertical. Reporting to Jim Hines, Head of Private Equity, Shinn will play a pivotal role in expanding DLA’s services for private equity clients and their portfolio companies. His focus will be on integrating the firm’s Accounting Outsourcing and Internal Audit capabilities to provide seamless transaction and operational support.
With more than 25 years of experience in private equity, strategic finance, and operational leadership, Shinn has guided companies through key transformation and growth phases across global markets. His impressive career includes leading leveraged buyouts, executing public equity investments, and steering organizational turnarounds both as an investor and an operator.

Before joining DLA, Shinn served as CFO and COO of Freehold Healthcare, where he led restructuring and long-term growth initiatives. He also held leadership positions such as President and CFO of Ursa Major Technologies, helping raise $120 million in Series D funding, and Partner at PAG, Asia’s largest private equity firm, where he established its presence in Korea and executed its first leveraged buyout. Earlier, Shinn held senior roles at The Carlyle Group, Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, and FRC Capital, driving high-impact investments across multiple industries.

The team provides expertise across every stage of the investment lifecycle from due diligence and valuation to post-acquisition integration, operational improvement, and financial governance.

In his new role, Shinn will work closely with Hines to advance DLA’s Private Equity Advisory services, enhancing the firm’s ability to deliver pre- and post-acquisition support and strengthen portfolio performance.
