Cross River Bank is expanding its national footprint with the opening of a new full-service branch in Downtown Wilmington, marking a strategic move to broaden access to modern banking and credit solutions.

The technology-driven financial institution, known for powering embedded finance and Banking-as-a-Service partnerships, said the Delaware expansion reflects its continued mission to make financial services more accessible, scalable, and inclusive.

The Wilmington branch will provide consumer and small business credit origination, deposit services, check processing, and lending support. By establishing a physical presence in Delaware, Cross River aims to serve more borrowers while strengthening relationships with regional partners and tapping into the state’s growing fintech talent base.

“Opening a branch in Delaware is a significant growth opportunity for Cross River,” said Gilles Gade, Founder, Chairman, and CEO. “Delaware has established itself as a champion of fintech innovation, and this expansion allows us to better serve partners and consumers while expanding access to financial services.”

The move aligns with Delaware’s broader push to position itself as a fintech innovation hub. Governor Matt Meyer has championed initiatives such as the Delaware Artificial Intelligence Commission and the state’s Fintech Innovation Hub to attract forward-thinking financial technology companies.

“Cross River’s new full-service branch will bring high-quality jobs to Downtown Wilmington, strengthen our fintech ecosystem, and expand access to responsible credit,” Meyer said. “We’re proud to welcome Cross River to the First State.”

The branch is located at 1000 N. West Street, formerly known as the Brandywine Building, within Buccini Pollin Group’s Market West campus — a mixed-use district that has attracted financial services and technology firms following significant recent investment.
