Michael Montford to Lead New Firm Spinning Out from Gabe Plotkin’s Tallwoods Capital
Michael Montford has announced plans to launch a long-only investment partnership, PC3 Partners (“PC3”). PC3 is spinning out of Tallwoods Capital, Gabe Plotkin’s family office, where Montford has built the foundation for PC3 over the past three years. Tallwoods is backing PC3 through an anchor investment, and Plotkin will serve as the Chair of the firm’s Advisory Board.

“PC3’s strategy is purpose-built to capitalize on price dislocations in high-quality businesses,” said Montford. “We fill a gap in the active management landscape by combining the agility to act quickly during dislocations with the duration to hold great businesses over the long-term.”
Montford was a Founding Partner and Sector Head at Tallwoods Capital. Prior to Tallwoods, Montford and Plotkin worked together for four years at Melvin Capital, an investment management firm with over $12.5B in assets under management during its peak.
