FICO and PostFinance, Switzerland’s leading digital bank, are taking their long-standing partnership to the next level to better protect customers and enhance communication during potential fraud incidents. After years of successful collaboration, PostFinance is expanding its use of FICO Falcon Fraud Manager for debit card protection and FICO Customer Communication Services (CCS) to ensure instant, personalized engagement with customers whenever suspicious activity is detected.

PostFinance plays a vital role in Switzerland’s financial landscape, serving over 2.4 million customers and processing around 4 million transactions every day — worth approximately CHF 5.9 billion. Remarkably, one in three debit card transactions in Switzerland is carried out using a PostFinance debit card, both at home and abroad. With such a high transaction volume, maintaining security and customer trust is crucial.

“Switzerland’s citizens depend on us to maintain the highest level of fraud protection,” said Stephan Zimmermann, Head of Customer Security at PostFinance. “We’ve built a trusted relationship with FICO over the past five years, and their expertise in fraud prevention allows us to support our customers seamlessly, no matter the time of day.”

For PostFinance, instant communication with customers is just as important as preventing fraud itself. “We need to be able to reach our customers right away whenever we suspect fraud or a scam,” explained Christoph Stettler, Senior Security Officer at PostFinance. “FICO’s fraud detection and communication tools make that possible. They help us connect with customers through their preferred channels, improving both protection and the overall experience.”

FICO’s advanced technology plays a key role in PostFinance’s continued digital transformation. “This expanded partnership strengthens PostFinance’s leadership in electronic banking and its ongoing commitment to innovation,” said Jens Dauner, Vice President for Central Europe at FICO. “It shows how seriously they take their responsibility to not only meet but exceed customer expectations.”

At the heart of this collaboration is FICO® Falcon® Fraud Manager — an AI-powered system backed by more than 100 patents in fraud detection. The solution currently protects over 4 billion payment cards worldwide, making it the most trusted payment fraud system in the industry.
