Modveon, a company building a verified operating system for governments and citizens, has announced a $10 million funding round to modernize how governments and citizens—and citizens with one another communicate, coordinate, and transact in the digital age. The round was backed by Coinbase Ventures, Firebolt Ventures, Humla Ventures, Strategic Cyber Ventures, along with additional investors and angel backers.

Modveon is led by CEO and co-founder Nana Murugesan, who brings deep experience from senior leadership roles at Coinbase, Matter Labs, Snapchat, and Samsung. His background spans consumer technology, blockchain infrastructure, and global platforms operating at massive scale.

As governments and citizens increasingly depend on digital systems for communication, identity, and financial services, Modveon argues that the underlying trust infrastructure has failed to evolve at the same pace. The company is addressing this gap by building an identity-first operating system that enables verified, closed-loop digital interactions designed to function reliably at societal scale.

Murugesan said that while the internet has scaled rapidly, trust has not. As more civic, economic, and social activity moves online, the absence of shared verification and accountability has created friction and risk. Modveon’s mission is to provide the foundational infrastructure that allows real-world digital interactions to work seamlessly, securely, and at scale.

At the core of Modveon’s platform is verified digital identity, which serves as the foundation for trusted interactions between governments, citizens, and institutions. The system is designed to support secure, closed-loop communication across both public and private contexts, while also enabling regulated digital payments and automated services that reduce friction in everyday interactions.

The company has already begun initial government deployments, with commercial agreements in place and early revenue being generated. Modveon expects to share additional product developments and partnership announcements as it moves toward a broader launch later this year, positioning itself as a key piece of digital infrastructure for modern governance and civic engagement.
