Mercer Global Advisors has announced the launch of its national Women & Wealth practice, a dedicated initiative designed to support women through comprehensive financial planning, wealth-building strategies, and meaningful community engagement. The program reflects the firm’s commitment to addressing the unique financial needs of women while also creating greater opportunities for female professionals within the advisory industry.
The Women & Wealth practice will be led by Laura Combs, who will serve as Executive Managing Partner and Head of the initiative. The program aims to create an environment where women clients can pursue economic independence while female fiduciary professionals are empowered to thrive in their careers.

The initiative comes at a time when women are expected to play an increasingly influential role in global wealth management. By 2030, women in the United States are projected to control approximately $34 trillion in assets, driven by rising income levels, entrepreneurial success, and significant wealth transfers between spouses and across generations. Mercer Advisors’ new practice is designed to respond to this shift by embedding women-focused financial planning strategies directly into the firm’s client experience and leadership priorities.
Through the Women & Wealth program, Mercer Advisors will expand its expertise in financial areas particularly relevant to women. These include longevity planning, career transitions, caregiving responsibilities, business ownership, and multigenerational wealth management. The services will be delivered through the firm’s integrated family office platform, which includes institutional-grade investment management, financial planning, estate strategies, and tax planning.
Laura Combs explained that the initiative reflects the real-life financial situations experienced by many households. She noted that building strong relationships with women clients and addressing their financial goals directly is both essential for delivering meaningful advice and critical for the long-term growth of the firm. Combs added that she is honored to lead the program as Mercer Advisors continues to strengthen its focus on supporting women investors.
Combs has played a significant role in Mercer Advisors’ growth since joining the firm in 2008. Over the years, she has helped expand several of the company’s fastest-growing markets, including the Colorado region where the firm’s headquarters are located. She also contributed to developing the firm’s Wealth Path offering, which extends family office-level services to a broader range of clients.

Her leadership also helped establish InvestHERs, a firmwide initiative launched in 2018 that focuses on advancing women within financial services. The program provides mentorship, professional development opportunities, educational resources, and community support designed to help women grow as investors and industry professionals. It also delivers tailored financial education programs for women clients.
Mercer Advisors has made notable progress in advancing gender diversity within its organization. Nearly half of the firm’s client-facing professionals are women, which is significantly higher than the industry average. In addition, women make up about 40 percent of the company’s executive leadership team, reflecting the strong influence female leaders have in shaping the firm’s strategy and culture.
According to Daniel Gourvitch, the launch of the Women & Wealth practice represents a long-term investment in building an advisory infrastructure that better serves women clients while supporting the next generation of female financial advisors. He emphasized that Mercer Advisors has already built a strong foundation of female leadership and that the new initiative will help the firm further differentiate itself within the wealth management industry.
