Microsoft 365 Copilot Wave 2 :Scaling Your Team Like Never Before With Copilot Agents

Introduction

For millions of people around the world, work happens in the Microsoft 365 apps. It’s where Copilot is already becoming a daily habit, delivering personal productivity gains and time savings. And with Wave 2, we’re taking everything we’re learning from our customers and using it to make Copilot even better.

Now anyone can quickly create a Copilot agent right in BizChat or SharePoint, unlocking the value of the vast knowledge repository stored in your SharePoint files. Imagine, for instance, firing up agent builder to build an agent right in the flow of your work in BizChat, quickly connecting it to SharePoint to power it with relevant business process data, and in moments you have a powerful knowledge resource you can share with your colleagues in Teams or Outlook. You can @ mention the agent as you would any other teammate, sharing new information and asking questions your agent answers in real time. If you want to build a more advanced agent from there, you can further customize it in Copilot Studio, deploying it to do things like connect to a data source or take actions on your behalf.

Copilot agents work for you in the background, fully managed and orchestrated by Copilot. Simple and secure to manage, all Copilot agents have the same Responsible AI and EDP promises—your data never leaves the Microsoft 365 trust boundary and everything happens within your tenant. You can also leverage pre-built agents like the new Visual creator agent, which helps you create AI-generated images, designs, and soon videos.

Copilot in Excel

Support for extra formulas like XLOOKUP and SUMIF, conditional formatting, and Copilot iteration on visualizations like charts and PivotTables has been introduced to maximize Excel’s potential. Copilot in Excel now handles text as well as numbers. Copilot in Excel using Python takes advantage of Python, a prominent data-working programming language, and Copilot in Excel. Copilot lets anyone use natural language to forecast, risk, machine learn, and visualize complicated data without coding. It’s like hiring a skilled data analyst. Copilot Pages

Copilot is the latest interface for artificial intelligence. And it all begins with Business Chat (BizChat), a central center that integrates all of your data—web data, work data, and line of business data—in the context of your work. BizChat transforms all of your organizational content into a comprehensive database of information and insight, allowing you to work with Copilot as a partner and transforming each artifact into a reusable business asset. We are thrilled to introduce Copilot Pages, a dynamic, persistent canvas that is specifically designed for multiplayer AI collaboration. It is the initial phase of our novel design system for knowledge work.

Copilot in PowerPoint

It is impossible for an individual to transition from an idea to a refined presentation in a single prompt.Narrative builder in Microsoft PowerPoint is now generally available. It enables you to collaborate with Copilot in a manner akin to a partnership, iterating together to construct a high-quality initial draft in a matter of minutes while maintaining creative control. A first draft of your presentation is generated by Copilot, which utilizes your prompt to generate an outline of topics that you can modify and refine. In the near future, you will be able to incorporate files into the outline to establish the foundation of your topics. Additionally, Copilot can capitalize on your organization’s branded template to ensure that your presentations are enterprise-ready and consistent with the brand. In the near future, Copilot will import images that have been authorized by the company from the SharePoint Organization Asset Library.

Copilot in Teams

There are two critical conversations that occur in meetings today: the one that is spoken and the one that is taking place in the discussion. Copilot in Teams can now analyze both the meeting transcript and the meeting discussion to provide a comprehensive understanding of the conversation.For example, you can inquire with Copilot whether there were any questions that you overlooked during a meeting. It will promptly review the conversation and the text in the chat to determine whether any questions were left unresolved. Copilot in Teams ensures that no inquiry, suggestion, or contribution is overlooked. This feature is generally accessible as of September 2024.

Copilot in Outlook

Email excess is a common issue that we all encounter. Currently, Copilot in Outlook assists you in expediting the process of accessing the most important messages by analyzing your inbox based on the content of your email and the context of your role, such as the email threads in which you have been responsive and the individual to whom you report. This feature is known as Prioritize my inbox. No more sifting through extensive messages—Copilot automatically generates a concise summary of each email, which includes the rationale behind its prioritization and the most valuable insights. In the near future, you will be able to instruct Copilot on the specific topics, keywords, or individuals that are significant to you, thereby guaranteeing that those emails are marked as high priority. Public previews of these features will commence in late 2024.

Copilot in Word

Microsoft Word frequently necessitates the integration of content from other applications and documents. However, the process of locating and incorporating the necessary information can be time-consuming and can disrupt your writing. Later in September 2024, Copilot in Word will allow you to rapidly reference not only web data and work data, such as Word, PowerPoint, PDFs, and encrypted documents, but also emails and meetings. And it seamlessly incorporates this information into the flow of your work, enabling you to quickly produce a high-quality first draft. We have enhanced Copilot in Word to be an even more effective writing partner. A new, on-canvas start experience with suggested prompts to jumpstart your creative process and the ability to collaborate with Copilot inline as you work on specific sections of your document are both generally available. Recent updates include these features.

Copilot in OneDrive

Microsoft OneDrive is a comprehensive repository that serves as a repository for the personal work content of professionals. However, we all invest an excessive amount of time attempting to locate the appropriate documents or recall which document contains the content we require. Copilot in OneDrive can rapidly analyze all of your files to locate the information you require. This feature enables you to summarize and compare up to five files with a clear, comprehensible summary of the details and distinctions within them—all without the need to open a file. Copilot is currently being implemented in OneDrive and will be generally accessible by the conclusion of September 2024.
