The new Esusu-powered tool turns on-time rent payments into lasting credit progress
Zillow is introducing a new way for renters to turn their biggest monthly expense into real financial progress. The company has launched CreditClimb, an affordable and simple credit-building tool powered by Esusu. Starting today, renters across the U.S. can sign up through Zillow to have their on-time rent payments automatically reported to all three major credit bureaus for just $20 per year. With CreditClimb, renters can also track their credit score and even add up to two years of past rent payments giving them a faster path to stronger credit.

Today, nearly 87% of renters don’t see their rent payments reflected in their credit reports, making it harder to get approved for loans, access affordable financing, or eventually buy a home. But programs powered by Esusu have already shown strong results: renters who consistently report their on-time payments have seen their credit scores jump by an average of 45 points, collectively unlocking over $30 billion in mortgages.
Michael Sherman, senior vice president of Zillow Rentals, highlighted how important this initiative is for renters looking to improve their financial footing. He noted that better credit can open doors to more favorable financing, easier rental approvals, and a clearer path toward homeownership. With CreditClimb, renters can finally put the rent payments they already make to work for their financial future.
CreditClimb leverages Esusu’s secure technology to report payments to Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion, ensuring that responsible renters get credit for paying on time. Enrollment is simple renters verify their lease and payment information, and Zillow and Esusu handle everything behind the scenes.
