WisdomTree enters the private asset space with a strategic acquisition, targeting the fast-growing $3.5T U.S. farmland market and adjacent sectors.
WisdomTree, a global financial innovator, has announced a significant strategic move: the acquisition of Ceres Partners, a leading asset manager specializing in U.S. farmland investments. This deal marks WisdomTree’s official entry into the private asset markets, positioning them as a leader in a high-growth sector with a strong, immediate foothold.

The acquisition brings an impressive $1.85 billion in assets under management, comprising approximately 545 U.S. farmland properties across 12 states, primarily in the Midwest. Ceres has a proven track record, with a net average annual return of 10.3% since 2007, outperforming typical farmland benchmarks.
WisdomTree sees immense potential in farmland, a large and historically under-invested asset class in the U.S. Farmland is known for providing stable, inflation-protected returns that are largely uncorrelated with traditional stocks and bonds. With this acquisition, WisdomTree is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for income-generating, inflation-hedged private investments on an institutional scale.
